MANILA, Philippines – The US Embassy pledged to fully cooperate with the Philippine National Police in the investigation on the death of a Filipino transgender in Olongapo City.
“The US Embassy in Manila expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jeffrey Laude, who was found dead in Olongapo City on October 11,” the Embassy said in a statement.
“A US Marine has been identified as a possible suspect in the ongoing investigation. The United States will continue to fully cooperate with Philippine law enforcement authorities in every aspect of the investigation,” it said.
Jeffrey Laude, 26, was allegedly strangled to death after checking into a hotel with a “male, white foreigner” last Saturday evening.
