MANILA, Philippines – The United States (US) Embassy in the Philippines has announced the closure of its offices on October 13, Monday for an American holiday.
“The US Embassy and its affiliated offices will be closed to the public on Monday, October 13, 2014, in observance of Columbus Day,” the embassy said in a statement Friday.
“The Embassy and its affiliated offices will resume services on Tuesday, October 14,” it added.
Columbus Day celebrates the arrival of Genoese maritime explorer Christopher Columbus on the shores of the “New World” on October 1492.
