CEBU CITY, Philippines — A Japanese national was found dead, on Tuesday, in an apparent suicide by hanging in Barangay (village) Mambaling, Cebu City.
Kiyoshi Nakahigashi, 55, a native of Nishihama, Wakayama, Japan, was found hanging by his live-in partner, Tiffany Ann Villamor, inside their living room past 7 a.m., Senior Police Officer 4 Alex Dacua, city homicide investigator said.
An emergency rescue team rushed to the home of Nakahigashi upon the call of Villamor for help but he was declared dead at the scene.
Villamor told investigators that Nakahigashi had been facing financial problems for two years now.
Villamor has a two-year-old daughter with Nakahigashi.
