Filipina maid faces adultery rap in UAE

MANILA, Philippines — A Filipina domestic helper was slapped with an adultery charge Sunday after giving birth at the bathroom of her employer’s home in Al-Nouf, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates last week.

In a report from Dubai-based newspaper Gulf News, the 35-year-old Filipina gave birth to twins Thursday.

The police are probing claims that the Filipina has an affair with a Bangladeshi national working at their neighbor’s house.

The alleged partner of the Filipina attempted to flee the country but was detained by authorities. He was also charged with adultery.

The employers of the Filipina said that they did not notice that the maid was pregnant saying that she only looked “fat”.

The Filipina and her babies are currently at the Al Qasimi hospital and are in stable condition.
