MANILA, Philippines — A 14-year-old Filipino student was “seriously injured” after reportedly being stabbed four times by a schoolmate in a Dubai school Tuesday, a report said.

Roj Pascual, an eighth grade student of The Philippine School in Dubai, was rushed to the Rashid Hospital after a seventh grade student of the same school stabbed him, according to Gulf News.

Pascual suffered from four stab wounds — one in the back, two in his left arm and one on his left side. No internal injuries have been identified.

Doctors said that Pascual’s condition is now stable.

According to the report, the knife attack happened at around 11 a.m. Tuesday when Pascual confronted his attacker for allegedly flashing him a middle finger twice. The confrontation quickly became a fist fight initiated by the seventh grader, according to Pascual.

The attacker is now in police custody.

Meanwhile, the school maintained that it does lack security.
