11 more OFWs to come home from Libya–DFA

MANILA, Philippines — Only 11 of 50 Filipinos were included in the second batch of workers to come home from Libya, a 990 AM report said on Monday.

Quoting Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, the report said others chose to remain because the situation in Libya was coming back to normal.

“We’re trying to visit the hospitals again to see if there are more people that can be convinced to come home. Most of Tripoli is now under hands of the new government. There’s a view that things will normalize soon and people are beginning to wonder whether they should leave or stay,” Del Rosario told 990AM.

Meanwhile, the first batch of 35 OFWs who left Libya through a chartered ferry by the International Organization of Migration were now in Cairo, Egypt, the radio report said quoting DFA Assistant Secretary Raul Hernandez.
