Fil-Am ‘sportsfest’- picnic set in Ft. Washington, Maryland

WASHINGTON, DC – It will be a Sunday of fitness fun and gorging, too, at the Philippine American Foundation Charities’ annual community picnic and Sportsfest, starting at 8 a.m. (until 6 p.m.) on June 29 at Tucker Road Recreation Park, Fort Washington, Maryland.

Activities start early with a 5K Run at 8:00 a.m. sharp (7:00 a.m. registration) c/o Mya Grossman and Zumba at 9:30 a.m. c/o Mykel Krizztoffer.

Tennis starts at 9:00 a.m. c/o Sonny Busa and Ed Tiong.
 Volleyball starts at 10:00 a.m. c/o Leony Rosario and John Philip Cabrera. 
Basketball starts at 10:00 a.m. c/o FYBA (off-site on Bock Road).

FEATURED STORIES

The highly anticipated and much-awaited Parada Ng Lechon starts 
at 11:30 a.m. c/o Nancy Rafuson Ceniza.

Organizations may set up their own tent. Just ask designated marshals.

There will be a potluck lunch at the BIG PAFC Tent. Bring Potluck of dish/dessert good for 15 people to share. 
Or contributions at the donation box are welcome.

A Children’s Corner will be set-up at the PAFC Big Tent, with lots
 of children’s activities throughout the day c/o Krystle Canare.

Gigi Bueno Gopiao will organize and officiate the Games or “Palaro” 
for children, adults and families. “Pabitin” for the younger ones and 
the “Paluin ang Banga” with lots of goodies inside are included.

The Battle of Bands will begin at 2:00 p.m. 
with dancing. Attendance is free. Various vendors will be present.
