16th Paaralan sa Konsulado for Fil-Am kids starts in New York

NEW YORK, New York – Paaralan sa Konsulado, a summer workshop to give Filipino American children aged 6 to 16 a better understanding of their heritage and culture will run for five Saturdays — June 28, July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Philippine Consulate.

The workshop, now on its 16th year, teaches participants Filipino values, history, arts, songs, dances, games, customs, customs and conversational Filipino. It is sponsored by the Philippine Consulate General of New York and the Association of Fil-Am Teachers of America (AFTA), which is celebrating its 25th year.
