MANILA, Philippines — An Air China flight was cancelled at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after failing to restore its air position status device.
The Manila International Airport Authority, state operator of NAIA, said flight CA-180 was supposed to depart at 6:30 a.m. but it was delayed to due to problems in its air-conditioning system.
About 100 passengers, mostly Chinese nationals, were made to wait more than eight hours before the flight was declared cancelled at around 1 p.m.. Some of the passengers loudly scolded the airline officers that security staff had to pacify them.
The MIAA public affairs office said the passengers have been booked by the airline to a nearby hotel.
