• Goldman Sachs wins “Overall Best Employer for Asian Pacific Americans” for second time in a row
• KPMG also takes top spots in annual Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Awards
NEW YORK, New York – Asia Society named Goldman Sachs and KPMG the best corporate employers of “Asian Pacific American talent” and for being at the forefront of promoting global diversity.
This year’s winners were selected based on the quality of their APA programs as well as the results from their employee surveys, which made up Asia Society’s “2014 Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Survey.”
Asia Society, a pan-Asian organization working to strengthen relationships between the United States and Asia, feted the winners of the Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Awards on June 9 at Asia Society’s 6th Diversity Leadership Forum at Time Warner Center.
“The corporate awards not only highlight company activities in support of diversity and APA leadership, but also stress the importance of developing the APA workforce and the impact this may bring to companies,” said Asia Society Executive Director Dr. Michael Kulma. “We commend all winners for their amazing work as well as those companies that exhibit best practices and noteworthy support to the APA community.”
For the second time in a row, Goldman Sachs won the top honor as “Overall Best Employer for Asian Pacific Americans” for providing an inclusive work environment for Asian Pacific American talent.
“This important recognition reflects the commitment to diversity shared by our entire team as we serve our clients and communities,” said Chris Kojima, managing director and senior sponsor of Goldman Sachs’ Asian Professionals Network.
The company also scored the top spots for “Best Company for Support of the APA Community” and “Best Company for Promoting APAs into Senior Leadership Positions.”
KPMG was named the “Best Company for Asian Pacific Americans to develop Workforce Skills” also for the second time in a row.
Asia Society also honored companies with noteworthy and distinguishable performances, such as Colgate-Palmolive, Freddie Mac, General Electric, Marriott, New York Life and Pfizer.
