Ave Maria bounces back from defeat
THE AVE MARIA Sanctuary and Park-University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars pulled out all the stops on both ends of the floor when they needed it the most as they outlasted the Prime Asia-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 67-61, in the 5th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Partners Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.
The win was a great way to bounce back for the Jaguars, especially after their heartbreaking loss to the San Marino Corned Tuna-Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras, a loss that saw them lose an 11-point lead in the final period.
The Jaguars now hold a 4-5 (win-loss) record while the Warriors fell to their third straight defeat in the second round, good for a 3-6 mark.
Renato Abing sank a huge three-pointer from the corner and Miguel Tabaloc followed that up with a layup in the last two minutes of the game to spell the difference in the tightly contested match.
Tabaloc topped the Jaguars with 12 while Abing added 10.
