RUN FOR SIGHT Foundation together with ThreeSixty Pharmacy will stage the first full marathon outside of Cebu City dubbed “360 Kawasan Falls Marathon” on July 24 starting in Badian town, southern Cebu.

The run is expected to pass through the towns of Badian, Alegria and Malabuyoc.

“We want to showcase the beauty of Cebu through this run,” said Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III of the Run for Sight Foundation in yesterday’s press launching at the Pino Restaurant in Lahug.

Larrazabal said he came up with the idea of having a scenic run in Cebu after joining last year’s annual Niagara Marathon in Canada.

The race will feature 21- and 42-kilometer distances but the organizers are planning to add a shorter distance exclusive for locals of the southern towns.

According to the organizers, the route will be a mix of uphills and flat roads with beautiful scenic views of the towns’ pristine beaches.

Librando Lines and Larrazabal promised to lend buses for runners’ transportation to Badian.

The 42k champions will receive P15,000 while 21k champions will get P7,000.

Registration fee is pegged at P900 for the 42k race and P700 for the 21k inclusive of a high-quality singlet and a finisher’s medal from Suarez and Sons.
