San Diego sets largest Asian American Heritage fest; AARP joins as gold sponsor

SAN DIEGO, California – The 5th Annual Asian Cultural Festival, San Diego’s largest celebration for Asian American Heritage Month, will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 12 noon to 8 p.m.

The free family event with food and cultural performances will be held in the heart of the Asian American district, on Convoy Street between Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Raytheon Road.

Festival organizers also announced that AARP, the national organization for retired persons, is a first-time Gold Sponsor of the popular event presented by the National Asian American Coalition.

“We’re delighted to support San Diego’s richly diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and proud to sponsor one of the city’s premier AAPI events during its 5th anniversary,” said Katie Hirning, AARP California state director.

“AARP’s generous support has allowed us to continue connecting San Diego’s Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and grow the event even larger than past years,” said Dennis-Michael Broussard, director of the Asian Cultural Festival.
