Philippines to host its first International Bio Energy Conference

06:53 PM August 25, 2011

The 1st Philippine International Bio Energy Conference will be held in Manila on January 12 and 13, 2012.  The event will gather local and international experts from the renewable energy industry, agricultural community, and representatives from government and the private sector to discuss issues on bioenergy research and development, as well as the economically viable and environmentally sustainable production and utilization of biofuels and biomass supply.

The dates of the conference coincide with the celebration of the third anniversary of the Philippine Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (Republic Act 9531) and the fifth year of the implementation of the Biofuels Act of 2006 (Republic Act 9367).  Presentations will cover the current state of the industry in terms of research, investments and technologies in key areas of bioenergy production.  It will be an opportune gathering to engage in production, technology and marketing partnerships.

The conference is being organized by the Philippine Agricultural Development and Commercial Corporation, in partnership with the Department of Energy and the National Biofuels Board.

Interested participants are invited to visit www.philippinebioenergy.com for more information and updates about the conference.
