Leyte Dance Theater starts US tour in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Leyte Dance Theater, with choreographer Jess De Paz will open its US tour with a premiere performance at 7 p.m. on April 11 at the Scottish Masonic Rites Center on 19th Avenue and Sloat in San Francisco.

Leyte Dance Theater is scheduled to perform in San Francisco and a dozen other cities like San Jose, Los Angeles, Orlando, New York, Washington, DC.

Leytenos Global, Northern California-USA Chapter, an international organization of people from Leyte, is sponsoring the dance group, along with the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center, Filipino American Arts & Exposition, Santo Nino De Cebu USA Inc. and friends and patrons of the arts from Leyte within Bay Area.

The Leyte Dance Group is part of the Leyte Normal University Ensemble under the leadership of Jess De Paz, a world-renowned choreographer who studies at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. The group performs exquisite dances reflecting the various ethnic dances from Philippines.
