The Australia Philippines Services League (APSL) reelected retired Col. Chris Pilao as Supreme Commander during the annual general meeting Feb. 23 at Rooty Hill RSL.
Also reelected were: Dorothy del Villar, concurrent deputy supreme commander for operations and treasurer; Tony Oliva, deputy commander for administration; Nap Estrada, secretary; Evelyn Opilas, public relations officer, and Mike Onate, Nar Ignacio, Fred Boado, James Vargas, directors for operations, personnel, logistics and plans and programs, respectively.
Yvonne Opilas was elected auditor.
Larry Aldaba, Mon Gaitos, Edgar Fodra and Ray Carmacion were reappointed assistant directors for operations, personnel, logistics and plans and programs, respectively.
Established in 2005, the APSL comprises Filipino veterans, former service personnel and descendants of veterans and military staff. The APSL participation at the ANZAC Day parade and allied events. It organizes the Philippine Independence Day flag raising ceremony in Blacktown with strong support from Blacktown City Council and participation from various groups within the Filipino-Australian community. APSL has also conducts leadership forums.
