Malaysian PM in PH for peace pact signing

MANILA, Philippines – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived in the Philippines Thursday noon to witness the signing of the historic Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) at Malacanang.

Onboard a government aircraft, Prime Minister Najib Razak and his delegation arrived at around 1p.m. at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Prior to the signing ceremony later this Thursday, Razak will meet with President Benigno Aquino III to briefly discuss matters of mutual concerns between the Philippines and Malaysia.

The Prime Minister is in the country for a one-day working visit upon the invitation of Aquino.

Malaysia has been the facilitator of peace negotiations between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) since 2001 and has hosted several talks on the peace agreement in Kuala Lumpur.
