MANILA, Philippines- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak will arrive Thursday to attend the signing of the historic Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) at Malacañang, the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed Wednesday.
“Prior to the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Najib will meet with the President, to briefly discuss matters of mutual concern between the Philippines and Malaysia,” DFA spokesperson Charles Jose said in a press conference.
Jose said the Prime Minister and his delegation would be in the country for a one-day working visit upon the invitation of President Benigno Aquino III.
Malaysia has been the facilitator of peace negotiations between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) since 2001 and has hosted several talks on the peace agreement in Kuala Lumpur.
