The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has questioned claims of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, or Guo Hua Ping, regarding a “death threat” she received hours before she returned to the Philippines from Indonesia, saying that it is all a “figment of her imagination.”

MANILA, Philippines — The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has questioned claims of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, or Guo Hua Ping, regarding a “death threat” she received hours before she returned to the Philippines from Indonesia, saying that it is all a “figment of her imagination.”

Last September 5, Guo sought help from Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. and told him about the supposed threat, but the latter’s response was not clear on the livestream posted on Facebook.

Reports revealed that an agent from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) who was present but was not identified told ABS-CBN in an interview that the threats against Guo came from “the Chinese mafia.”

“Sino ang magbabanta sa kanya? Di naman siguro magbabanta ang PAOCC sa kanya? Pipito lang kami? Di naman siguro magbabanta ang DOJ (Department of Justice) sa kanya?” Casio said in a forum on Sunday.

“It’s all a figment of her imagination, hinahabol na po siya ng sarili niyang gawang multo,” he added.

Guo was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia, around 1:30 a.m. on September 4. She arrived in the country from Indonesia on September 6.

The former mayor faces charges of qualified human trafficking and money laundering, and she is also wanted by the Senate for failing to attend its hearings.
