Philippine consular officials were able to visit the 23-year-old Filipino immigrant detained in California for his alleged involvement in a plot to mount terrorist attacks that reportedly included targets in the Philippines.
The Taliban launched coordinated attacks on at least seven sites across the Afghan capital on Sunday, targeting North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato) headquarters, the parliament and diplomatic residences. Militants also launched near-simultaneous assaults in three other eastern cities.
