August 25 is a significant holiday, as we celebrate National Heroes’ Day. During this day we commemorate everyone who fought hard for our country’s freedom. We praise those who have put in so much effort in order for our country to progress and stand on its own. We honor the brave men who fought numerous battles and wars that our country went through. But we tend to forget to pay tribute to those who traveled so far in the hopes of providing better lives for their families, our modern-day heroes – overseas Filipino workers.
