The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Policy Erlinda Basilio as new ambassador to China, the DFA said in a statement.

China on Wednesday welcomed the appointment of Erlinda Basilio as the new Philippine ambassador to China, saying that Beijing was hoping her appointment would contribute to the advancement of the two countries’ strained bilateral relations.
