DFA to honor Chinese e-passports despite map

The Philippines would continue to process visa applications of Chinese nationals carrying e-passports (computer-chipped passports) that contained a map which included the West Philippine Sea and islands being claimed by the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Friday.

China places disputed sea map on new e-passports

The Philippines has protested China’s depiction of its claims over the entire West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) in an image of a map printed on newly issued Chinese electronic passports.
