MANILA, Philippines – A convicted rapist and murderer who will serve the remainder of his 40-year prison term in Spain will be checked at least once a month by Philippine embassy staff there, acting Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera said Wednesday.
Francisco "Paco'' Larrañaga, who was found guilty of the 1997 rape-slay of the Chiong sisters “won’t be given preferential treatment,” Devanadera told reporters at a news briefing in Malacañang.
Larrañaga left Tuesday morning for Spain where he would be placed in a Madrid prison facility.
