Home MANILA, Philippines?Upon learning that the executions of three Filipino drug mules had been carried out in China on Wednesday, President Benigno Aquino III went to the Palace chapel and prayed, his spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.
President Aquino got word of the executions of Sally Villanueva, Elizabeth Batain and Ramon Credo past noon when Lacierda said he got a text message from Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ed Malaya.
"He was silent,'' Lacierda said of Mr. Aquino's initial reaction, adding that the President then prayed in the chapel along with Church officials he had been meeting with, led by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.
