MANILA, Philippines ? President Benigno Aquino III wants to show the world the Philippines is a safe place for tourists even after the hostage crisis that killed eight Hong Kong tourists on August 23.

He said on Thursday that he intended to show the capabilities of the police in handling terrorist and crisis situations.

Several demonstrations have been set in three police camps on Friday and Saturday, according to the President.
