MANILA, Philippines?Groups interested in joining the 2nd J-Pop Anime Singing Contest have until next Thursday, May 20, to send in their demo CD and other requirements to get a chance to compete in the grand final on July 24, 2010 to be held at the Cyberzone Event Center of SM North Edsa, the Japanese embassy here said in a news release Thursday.
Top winners of the singing contest will win scholarships from Nihongo Center Foundation and Center for Pop Music Philippines and be awarded with exciting prizes from event partners Ajinomoto, Canon, Heritage Hotel, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, and Yakult. At the grand final, participants can also enjoy special courtesy treats of Yoshinoya.
Interested groups can register by sending the following:
1. A CD demo of their rendition of two Japanese songs taken from J-Pop or anime;
2. A duly accomplished application form which can be downloaded from the embassy of Japan website;
3. Group photo with a short write-up about the group; and
4. A description of the chosen songs (i.e. artist, title, lyrics).
The contest requirements should be mailed or submitted personally to the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
The J-Pop and Anime Singing Contest is presented by the embassy of Japan in cooperation with the Japan Foundation Manila and in partnership with SM Supermalls, SM Cyberzone, Toei Philippines, Nihongo Center Foundation, Center for Pop Music, Yoshinoya, Animation International Licensing Philippines, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Inc., Ajinomoto, Canon, Heritage Hotel, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, Yakult, and Hero TV and Max FM 103.5 as media partners.
