MANILA, Philippines—The final tally for the number of Filipinos overseas who have registered for the overseas absentee voting in time for the 2010 general elections is not yet in, based on the September 4 report of the OAV Secretariat of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The tallies from the Philippines-based registration centers at the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (19,644), the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (14,990), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (6,869), and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (6,319) are complete.
The incomplete tally puts the number of OAV registrants at 223,080, with the biggest bulk from Asia and the Pacific (67,275), Middle East and Africa (43,307), Americas (41,418), and Europe (23,258).
By country, the top 10 countries were the United States (33,236), China (26,609), United Arab Emirates (17,478), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (13,543), Singapore (11,296), Taiwan (9,020), Canada (7,738), Japan (7,344), United Kingdom (5,854), and Italy (5,488).
