MANILA, Philippines? The Federated Associations of Manpower Exporters, the umbrella organization of local licensed recruiters, on Sunday promised to help the 136 Filipino drivers illegally recruited and cheated by CYM International Manpower Services find jobs.

Federation president Eduardo Mahiya said the organization has decided to help the drivers move on and start anew after the controversial licensed recruiter hired and deployed the drivers for non-existent driving jobs in Dubai.

?I have spoken to some of the presidents of associations who are directors of the federation and asked them to find vacancies and if there are, recruit and deploy the Filipino drivers victimized by CYM International so they can move on and start anew in life,? Mahiya said in a statement.

The plight of the drivers have dominated the news over the last two months, prompting the Senate committee on labor and employment and human resource development, chaired by Senator Jinggoy Estrada, to conduct an inquiry into the situation of the drivers, some of whom complain about money debts incurred facilitated by CYM with a credit finance company.

Mahiya said the federation is negotiating with the drivers? creditor, RJJ Lacaba Financing Corp., for the latter to forgive the loans.
