MANILA, Philippines?A second Philippine Airlines flight left Manila 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for the northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai to fetch more Filipinos stranded in Bangkok.
PAL flight PR 732 will await more Filipinos travelling by land from Bangkok. The plane is scheduled to return to Manila around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to PAL spokesman Rolly Estabillo.
The plane is an Airbus A330 that can accommodate up to 320 passengers.
?We will prioritize Filipinos, especially those who already have tickets. It would be up to the Philippine embassy to endorse those who will take the flight,? Estabillo said in a phone interview.
Incidentally, the Thailand-bound flight carried 70 passengers, including 50 travelers endorsed by the Kuwait Airways, the rest being individual passengers and a smaller group of passengers endorsed by Thai Airways.
The Department of Foreign Affairs earlier announced Tuesday that Cebu Pacific airlines was sending a second plane to the military base of U-Tapao International Airport near Bangkok 9 p.m. on Wednesday to bring some 180 stranded Filipinos who were transported from Bangkok by the Philippine embassy.
PAL and Cebu Pacific earlier sent a plane each to Chiang Mai and U-Tapao, bringing more than 500 passengers back to Manila Monday night and Tuesday morning.
