MANILA ? The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is set to hold free investor briefings in Cebu and Davao later this month as part of efforts to spur interest on equities investing.
The seminar entitled "Building Wealth with Stocks: Investing Guide for Beginners" will be held on March 22 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu and another on March 24 at Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City. The seminars will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Another seminar will also be conducted for the members of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry on March 23 as part of the PSE stock market roadshow. This seminar entitled "Alternative Funding-Financing through the Equities Market" will be held at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu from 9 am to 12 noon.
"The PSE roadshow in Cebu and Davao forms part of PSE's intensified investor education program to increase local participation in the stock market. Through this financial literacy campaign, the exchange also hopes to promote the stock market as an effective venue for mobilizing capital for business enterprises outside Metro Manila," PSE chief operating officer Val Antonio Suarez said in a press statement.
Less than 1 percent of the Philippine population currently invest in the stock market.
The PSE will bring in experts who will talk about the basics of investing, online stock trading, investing in mutual funds, and listing on its bourse.
