MERCITO ?No Mercy? Gesta (20-0-1, 10 KOs) of Labogon, Mandaue City will see action again on Feb. 18 at the Longshoreman Hall in San Francisco, California against a familiar foe, Genaro Trazancos (22-13-1, 13KOs) of Mexico.
Gesta already knocked Trazancos out in seven rounds last August 20, 2010 in Arizona. The Cebuano southpaw was supposed to fight Hector Velasquez, a Mexican known for being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in 2005. But Gesta was told by his promoter Don Chargin that Velasquez backed out of the fight.
Gesta won the WBO NABO Youth lightweight title last June 4, 2010, stopping another Mexican, Oscar Meza in four rounds in Florida. Gesta has been fighting in the US since 2007 and makes San Diego, California his home base. He was here in Cebu during the Christmas season.
The Gesta-Trazancos II is part of a mutli-bout card billed ?War at the Wharf? presented by Golden Boy Promotions with Don Chargin Promotions in association with Jorge Marron Productions. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre jr
