POWER 40 skippered by Flor Yosores drubbed the Minglanilla Basketball Association (MIBA), 94-77, Saturday night to grab the inaugural championship of the 50 years old-and-above category of the Cebu Golden Basketball League (CGBL) at the Inayawan Sports Complex.
Power 40 jumped to a hot start behind former UV Lancer, Jingjing Gacayan who nailed 10 of his 12 points in the opening quarter then posted a commanding 15-point advantage, 70-55 going to the final canto.
Leading MVP aspirant and former SWU Cobra Michael Arias carried the play and provided leadership as he teamed up with former UV Lancer, Steve Dajalos and former SWU Cobra slotman, Cesar Esteban Ortega for Power 40?s lopsided win.
Steve Dajalos and Cesar Esteban Ortega led Power 40 with 19 and 17 points, respectively, while Michael Arias, Jingjing Gacayan and Mon Ceballos added 12 points each.
Former CIT Wildcat, Titing Dela Torre paced MIBA with 19 points.
