THE rejuvenated Cebu Eastern College Little Dragons stunned Sacred Heart School-Jesuits, 71-64 in the Hapee Online Sinulog Cup 12U category at CEC Gym, Sunday.
The Little Dragons, playing like a house on fire with their intensity and heart, led the Eagles from start to finish, and enjoyed a 15-point lead at halftime, 39-24.
Then in the 3rd quarter, CEC?s Dave Paon and Harold Laborde sizzled in the shaded lane as CEC enjoyed its biggest lead of the game at 20 points.
The Eagles roared back in the 4th quarter with their trapping defense to cut their deficit down to just 7 points but ran out of gas as CEC claimed its 2nd victory.
?It was an unexpected win for us, it?s a new team and to win against a dominant squad like SHS-J is a tall order. But I?m glad the boys pulled through,? declared CEC Athletic Director Jefferson Go.
The CEC is currently undergoing a major facelift by hiring new players and members of its coaching staff in its bid to make the Dragons at par with the best basketball squads here in Cebu,
Meanwhile, in the 17U category, CEC under new Coach Jerry Jaranilla dumped PCGS, 82-60 for its 2nd win.
