THE CHAMPIONS of the UAAP and the NCAA will try to set up an immaculate showdown for the championship title in the 2009 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) when they take on separate opponents in the semifinals today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Back-to-back UAAP champions Ateneo Blue Eagles will be taking on sister team San Beda Red Lions while the NCAA champions San Sebastian Stags battle the Far Eastern University Tamaraws.
The winners of the games will advance to the best-of-three title series starting Wednesday.
The Red Lions and the Blue Eagles are considered to be sister teams as they are under the support of sports patron and media mogul Manny V. Pangilinan. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
