Ceasar Yarte and Leonard Delarmino logged victories so quickly that their foes never knew what hit them.
Yarte kept his spotless record intact after beating Arex Montalban in the first round of the main event of the Octagon of Fury Satruday night at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Yarte used an arm bar to force Montalban to submission in the last two minutes of round one to emerge victorious.
The victory left the crowd craving for more action especially since the fight was supposed to be the highlight of the 13-match event. Most of Saturday?s fights also ended in the first round.
In the co-main event, Cebuano Kid Oraiz was beaten also in the first round by Iloilo's Leonard Delarmino in their bantamweight match.
Delarmino's power kicks and punches sent Oraiz to the canvass, forcing the referee to stop the fight in the middle of round one.
Oraiz suffered his first defeated against three wins while Delarmino extended his MMA wins to five.
Other early victories in the event included Rey Delara?s win against Junrey Soquete .
A rear naked choke forced Soquete of Cebu to surrender against Delara of Iloilo in their featherweight division match.
But Muay Thai Cebu president Michael "Mikmik" Arquillano put up an impressive debut after he defeated MMA fighter Jennifer Biocales of Iloilo in the eighth match of the evening.
Biocales's teammate Albert Sumido overwhelmed Cebuano Pablo Santillan in the first round after he won by submission resulting into an arm bar.
Johnjier Torbiso's lethal kick knocked Marvin Gumban out also in the opening round of their match.
Torbiso left Gumban unconscious on the floor for a couple of minutes until medics rushed into the octagon.
Rogelito Plomeda, also from Bacolod City, knocked out Cebuano Junjie Abellana in the first round while Eric Areglado of CMAC Cebu left Agustin Delarmino Jr. of Iloilo very upset after he was caught in an arm bar in the first round.
Edward Monteza survived a barrage of punches from Glen Ventura of Bacolod, winning via an arm bar submission in the third round of their match.
Cebuano Danilo Teves surrendered to Philip Delarmino of Iloilo in the second round while Roy Colina logged an easy win over fellow Cebuano Michael Gesta of CMAC in the first round by a rear naked choke.
Chito Tadeja survived a three-round match against Dhodz Balansag of CMAC Cebu in the opening fight as judges all favored the former for the victory.
Both fighters were aggresive in the first round, but it was clear that Tadeja connected more punches and kicks.
