Games today:

Cebu Coliseum

5 p.m. - Misamis Oriental vs. Pampanga

7 p.m. - Cebu vs. Quezon

AFTER DOING battle in venues all over the country for three months, the five best teams of the Liga Pilipinas Conference 3 will converge today at the Cebu Coliseum for the start of the much-awaited Super Leg.

Former national champions M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños, who went undefeated in the elimination round, will start their bid to reach the finals when they take on the undermanned Quezon Red Oilers in the main game today at 7 pm.

Raising the curtains will be a match between the reigning national champions Misamis Oriental Meteors and the Smart-Pampanga Buddies.

?The best teams are all here and it?s back to zero now. Hopefully, we?ll continue winning and come away with the title,? said M. Lhuillier head coach and Cebu City Councilor Raul ?Yayoy? Alcoseba, who graced the press conference yesterday at the Crown Regency Hotel.

He was joined at the event by Liga basketball operations chief Butch Antonio, Trace-Laguna head coach Nomar Isla, Pampanga head coach Allan Gregorio, Quezon head coach Oliver Bunye and Misamir Oriental head coach Jun Noel.

Quezon has its back against the wall especially with the departure of several key players including Ramsey Williams, Bogs Raymundo and Jorel Canizares.

The lone bright spot is the comeback of forward Hafer Mondragon to the squad. The Red Oilers are raring to do better especially after their winless trip to Cebu during the tournament?s first leg several months back.

The teams will play a single round robin daily until Friday, with the top-ranked team advancing directly to Sunday?s national finals. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
