Put the multi-titled DGL Motorsports team in any autocross race in the country and the result will still be the same.
After dominating races in Cebu, DGL Motorsports brought its winning tradition to Davao last weekend for the Philippine Autocross Championship Series-Davao at the SM Davao west parking area.
The team, headed by Cebuano motorsports legend David G. Lim (DGL), came away with a whopping 12 division titles to completely dominate the race.
Leading the way for the team’s successful stint was DGL’s up-and-rising son, David Lim, Jr.
JR, as he is fondly called, won seven titles and clocked the best time in the race at 1:00.70 in his victory in the Open A category.
DGL was also in his usual deadly form, winning four titles while teammate Mato Tan won one category.
JR won the Novice Stock A, B and C, Novice Modified A, Experienced Modified A, Open A and Open B titles. DGL secured the titles in the Novice Modified C, Experienced Modified B and C and Open C categories. Tan, meanwhile, won the Novice Modified B crown.
DGL celebrated his son’s victory at the Orange Groove Hotel in Davao. The team returned to Cebu on Monday and immediately started its preparations for the final leg of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series-Cebu leg set Dec. 12 to 13 at the Parkmall grounds.
DGL is figured to win the Driver of the Year award after topping three of the first four races in the Cebu leg.
Other winners in Davao were Hervie June Hao (old school), Rommel dela Cruz (all phatspeed), Al Zainal (all Nissan) and Ivan Julian Mandez (all ground image).
