UAAP champions University of Sto. Tomas and NCAA champions San Sebastian College will go at each other once again as the two powerhouse squads battle it out in the quarterfinal round of the 6th Shakey's V-League, today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Tigresses and the Lady Stags are facing one another for the second time in five days.
While UST, led by Aiza Maizo and Ange Tabaquero, remains on a roll, San Sebastian, the reigning five-time NCAA champion, continues to flounder, dropping another three-straight loss to Adamson last Sunday.
That enabled Ateneo-OraCare to gain a share of third at 5-3 (win-loss) after the Lady Eagles turned back the Far Eastern U Lady Tams in four sets in last Sunday?s start of the quarterfinal round of the conference.
Ateneo shoots for its sixth win against St. Benilde, which took the last quarters slot at 2-5 but needs to sweep all its matches to gain a crack at one of the semis berth in the tournament.
Adamson, meanwhile, tries to shore up its semis bid as it clashes with FEU in the 2 p.m. match of another explosive triplebill. Ateneo and St. Benilde duel at 4 p.m. while UST and SSC square off at 6 p.m.
