THE ALASKA Aces try to further pull away from rest of the pack when they shoot for their sixth consecutive win against the Burger King Whoppers in another heavy triple-header in the PBA Philippine Cup today at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Aces are on top of the heap with a menacing 5-0 (win-loss) record—the only team in the tournament without a loss so far.

Alaska defeated San Miguel (84-75), Barangay Ginebra (105-96) and Sta. Lucia (91-83).

The Aces's other victories came at the expense of Barako Bull (99-82) and Coca-Cola (100-79).

Burger King, meanwhile, couldn't get its campaign going by losing three of its first four games.

The Whoppers suffered a major blow when starting point guard Wynne Arboleda was suspended for the rest of the season after he attacked a fan in their 115-105 win over Smart Gilas last Oct. 16.

Worse, the victory was even nullified following a league decision rendering the matches between PBA teams and Smart Gilas as no-bearing games.
