THE SINGAPORE Slingers continue to be the cream of the crop in the ASEAN Basketball League after they captured their fourth straight win with a, 96-72 thumping of Indonesia’s Satria Muda Britama at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Filipino import Al Vergara was at the helm of the dominant victory as he helped get them off to a 30-14 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
The Slingers continued to widen the gap in the second quarter and by half time, they practically sealed the win as they zoomed to a 53-26 advantage.
Kyle Jeffers led the team with 22 points, Michael LeBlanc came second with 18 points followed by Hong Wei Jian with 13. Satria Muda BritAma’s Alexander Gordon Hartman scored 28 personal points followed by Rensy Morales Bajar with 13 points.
With the win, the Slingers solidified their hold of the lead with a 4-0 (win-loss) record.
The Slingers battle the Philippine Patriots on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
Meantime, the Kuala Lumpur Dragons, getting a big lift from new Filipino recruit Rudy Lingganay, beat the Thailand Tigers, 79-78.
