5:00 p.m.- Barako Bull vs. Rain or Shine
7:30 p.m.- San Miguel vs. Talk N Text
Two teams highly considered as title favorites but are having contrasting campaigns so far go for each other's scalps as the defending champions Talk N Text Tropang Texters and the San Miguel Beermen collide in today's main game of the 35th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Texters try to keep their immaculate 3-0 (win-loss) record intact and try to forge a two-way tie at the top currently occupied by the idle Alaska Aces, who are 4-0.
Talk N Text's last win came at the expense of the erstwhile unbeaten Sta. Lucia Realtors, 100-83.
According to Reyes, going up against San Miguel could be their acid test.
"It's a nice win (against Sta. Lucia) for us but I guess the real proof of our defensive pudding is our next game," Reyes told pba.ph after their win against the Realtors last Wednesday.
The Beermen, on the other hand, started the tournament with two straight defeats before stopping the bleeding with a 117-99 trashing of the Burger King Whoppers last Wednesday.
"Very obvious, nagkakapaan pa ang team. No excuses but we played bad in our first two games. In short stretches lang kami nakapaglaro ng maayos. We're still a work in progress," said San Miguel head coach Siot Tanquingcen.
In the first game, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters try to arrest a three-game slump when they play the lowly but hard-fighting Barako Bull Energy Boosters. Rain or Shine hug the cellar of the team standings along with the Coca-Cola Tigers and Smart Gilas with identical 0-3 slates.
