THE Super Idols of lawyer Bong Pepito won Game 1, 77-63 against Casino Rubbing Alcohol last Saturday in their best-of-3 finals series of the 3rd Season Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-2009 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
The Super Idols jumped to a, 19-12 lead in the first canto then padded this to 11 points at the half, 39-28 behind Ramsey Quijano and center Fermin Pepito.
But Casino rallied hard in the third, and came to within six points before the Super Idols tore the game apart with clutch baskets for the 14-point demolition.
Benjo Santiago led Super Idols with 20 points while Fermin Pepito and Ramsey Quijano added 14 and 11 markers respectively.
Richard Bauzon paced Casino with 17 points, while William Maņuz and Wilbert Dumon added a combined 26 points.
Earlier, the Paņeros dominated from start to finish to bag the third place trophy after crushing undermanned Pecandela Law Firm, 72-63.
Michael Molde and Barry Busi led Paņeros with 18 and 15 points, respectively, while Gilbert Ruaya and Ting Ordeniza finished with 10 points apiece. Sam Malazarte paced Pecandela with 21 points.
