THE STARS of the seniors and juniors divisions of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc (CESAFI) basketball tournament will gather for one afternoon as the Cesafi All-Star Festivities kick off this Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The playdate will be highlighted by the much-anticipated Slam Dunk Competition, the Three-Point Shootout and the encounter between the East and West All-Star squads.
The East team will be bannered by stalwarts from the eight-time champions University of the Visayas (UV), the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF).
Their starting five is composed of UV's 7-foot center and reigning MVP Greg Slaughter and Green Lancers teammates Chris Diputado and Harold Cincoflores along with USPF's Fritz Dajalos and Edwin Bibera.
The West will counter with the University of Cebu's (UC) June Mar Fajardo and Jansen Abella and Southwestern University's (SWU) Eliud Poligrates, Gilbert Gallarde and Eleazar Armecin.
The winner of the seniors All-Star Game will be awarded a cash prize of P10,000 by the event's sponsor, Grosby Shoes.
