DEFENDING champions University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Spiking Jaguars and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Lady Spiking Panthers will try to solidify their hold of the top spots in the standings when the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball tournament continues today at the USPF gym.
USJ-R, which is at 3-0 (win-loss), will open the hostilities up with a showdown against the winless Cebu Doctors University at 8 a.m. while USPF, which shares the same record as the Jaguars, tackle the 1-2 University of Cebu (UC) in the women's division at 1 p.m.
The other undefeated squad in the women's class, the University of San Carlos (USC) Lady Warriors, will battle the University of the Visayas (UV).
USC , which is being coached by former MVP Roderick Arenasa, also has a 3-0 card. Former powerhouse USJ-R (1-2), which has fallen on tough times with the graduation of its star players, face off against the Cebu Doctors? University (CDU) in the final game of the afternoon.
The other games in the men's class will feature USPF taking on the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT), while USC squares off against UC. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
