BACK-TO-BACK leg champions M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños and reigning national champions Misamis Oriental Meteors will rekindle their rivalry once again as the two powerhouse squads compete in the 5th leg of the 2009 Smart Liga Pilipinas Conference 3, which starts today at the Quezon Convention Center.
The Niños are standing on top of the standings with an undefeated record and a point total of 30 points, highlighted by their 82-77 leg title win over the Meteors last Saturday at the latter's home floor in Cagayan de Oro City.
They will be facing the Apayao Rapids today at 4 p.m. The Niños are coming off a 75-83 loss to PBA squad Purefoods TJ Giants in their exhibition match last Monday.
The Meteors, on the other hand, will test the mettle of the hosts Oilers in the main game at 6 p.m.
Misamis has seven points after their runner-up finish last weekend. Their campaign will hinge once again on their deep roster led by Patrick Cabahug, Melvin Mamaclay and Mark Moreno among many others.
