MANILA, Philippines--Laden with veterans with vast international experience, seven-time champion San Beda is confident it will once again dominate this season?s NCAA swimming competition, which kicks off Saturday at Trace College in Los Banos, Laguna.
The Sea Lions are bannered by Ferdinand ?Mach? Frigillana, who took home seven golds from the 2009 PRISAA National Games last April and competed in the Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge in Australia.
Frigillana, who will be seeing action in his final year with San Beda, finished the PRISAA 200-meter freestyle in two minutes and 5.1 seconds surpassing his previous record of 2:09:03.
Aside from him, San Beda?s lineup remains intact with Teohdy Gavino, Miguel Barcial, McGyver Reyes, Ahldrian Reyes, and Micah Bueta.
?We can still win the championship,? said Sea Lions coach Dondon Roxas. ?I still motivate them to work hard and win another championship.?
The Sea Lions also added four rookies to its line-up including NCAA juniors swimming MVP Joselito Vintuan.
With last year?s runner-up Philippine Christian University taking a leave of absence, Roxas considers third placer College of St. Benilde as their toughest competitor this season.
