THE 2009 National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP)-Kadayawan Open Chess Championships gets underway from August 29 to 30 at the Gaisano South Citimall, in Davao City.
The free registration two-day Swiss System tournament with alloted 30 minutes time control for both players to finish the game, is open to the country?s chess players according to NCFP Region 11 coordinator James Infiesto.
The champion here will be receiving P5,000 plus trophy, the runner-up will get P2,500 plus medal, the third placer will bring home P1,500 plus medal while the fourth and fifth placers will get P750 each plus medal.
Special Awards (medals only) will be awarded to the Best Elementary Player for Boys and Girls; Best High School Player for Boys and Girls, Best College Player for Boys and Girls; Top Female; Top Executive; and Top Senior.
