THE JOSE Rizal University Heavy Bombers will try to catch up with their fierce rivals San Beda, when they tackle the College of St. Benilde Blazers in the main offing of the 85th NCAA basketball tournament today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Heavy Bombers, runners-up last year, are raring to get back on the winning track after they were derailed by the rampaging Stags of San Sebastian, 76-91, in their highly-anticipated encounter last Monday. That, coupled with San Beda?s win over Angeles University , has put JRU in third place with a 6-1 (win-loss) record.
JRU is still reeling from the death of former skipper Jayson Nocom last week, and they are still groping for form as they try to end a 37-year title drought.
In the first game, the Arellano University Chiefs will be taking on the Perpetual Help Altas.
