THE DEFENDING champions Teletech Titans leaned on a crippling 25-8 run in the third quarter to repulse 1&1, 62-52, last Monday in the 5th Inter-BPO Basketball Championship at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The Titans trailed 1&1 at the half, 17-19, but came out firing in the third to take a 42-27 lead heading to the final period.
1&1 cagers failed to recover from that third quarter slump, allowing Teletech to escape with the 10-point win.
Two other teams also took off to rousing starts with Western Wats blasting Calltek, 69-58, and Qualfon trashing Cebu Global, 64-38.
Rhett Tomakin led the way for Western Wats with 22 points, while Harold Toledo and Edward Lago added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Jan Pierre Gellez was the lone bright spot for Calltek with 20 points.
Jopher Regidor, on the other hand, topped Qualfon with 12 markers, while Michael Adam Pagadalian paced Cebu Global with 16 markers.
